This is a "functional" Mark X Tricorder replica from Star Trek: "Deep Space Nine".
It has 77 LED's and is powered by a 6V "J-type" battery.
It has a "reed switch" (magnetic switch) so when you open the lid,
the LEDs turn on and begin to sequence just like the originals.
Then, when you tilt it towards you, it makes that scanning sound just like on the show!
